Dating can be fun or it can be a hazard filled journey. The ups and downs have made many people swear off dating. Internet dating services have taken the singles world by storm as one can sit in the comfort of their own homes and peruse thousands of pictures and short profiles. Sometimes these dating services can lead one to their soul mate but other times it can lead to heartbreak. The dangers of dating people that are met online include people being untruthful about themselves, being married, con artists, and in extreme cases criminals. For example, Baltimore police reported a woman killed by a man she met online. This is the extreme case but one should take every precaution when meeting someone for the first time after meeting them online. 1) Meet in a public place. 2) Meet only when you feel comfortable. 3) Look for warning signs, trust your gut reaction. 4) Be careful.

Results have shown that online relationships are highly similiar to those developed in person, in terms of breadth, depth, and quality. Are people who meet online more suseptable to unfavorable results than those who meet face-to-face?
Yes, I think people who meet face to face are more convincing. But online dating sites did provide a wider network for us and we can know more people all over the world. Then we have more choices. I know a good dating site which provide a great service for all singles. Think you may have a check.
Hi Ashley, from the data I could find there was more unfavorable results from online dating. But, most attributed these results as a lack of chemistry then from a fear of personal danger.
Hi Melinda, I have been happily married for 16 years to my high school sweetheart but I must admit a millionaire could make me rethink that :)lol. This was a great site and very well organized. I agree with the idea of more choices and online relationships can result in some great freindships and sometimes a soul mate.
I would think that online dating and in person dating was the same. The individuals haven't changed, just the avenue. What do you think is making ONLINE DATING so popular? Perhaps simply great marketing/ advertising.
